Cape Dissappointment (WA) Light in Fog
Cape Disappointment Light in Ilwaco, Washington aids in navigating ships past the extensive sandbars of the Columbia River. There are 234 identified ships that stranded, sunk, or burned between 1725 and 1961 near the mouth of the river. The light became operational in 1856.
